Abstract
172,515. Statter, C., Statter, C., and Statter, H. Nov. 27, 1920. Guards.-A sheet-metal guard A, for the duckbili motion of loose-reed looms, is secured by tongues a<2> to the heater B and formed with top and bottom flanges a, a<1>, of a greater depth than the heater. The guard is cut out to suit the particular shape of bracket C, and has a tongue a<5>adapted. to be bent up to engage the bracket, thereby preventing lateral displacement of the guard. In a modification, the tongues a<2> are constituted by the extremities of a metal strip passed through slots in the sheet A. If struck by the duck-bill lever, the guard will be knocked off without suffering or causing damage.
