Abstract

Cylinder machines.-In a machine in which dough is fed into radial pockets formed in a rotary dividing- member 2, and provided with movable bottoms 7, the latter are positively moved from their outer position a to their inner position d so as to assist the filling of the pockets by suction. For this purpose, each pocket bottom is provided with two arms 11 which are controlled by rollers 13 moving between cam-surfaces 16, 18, Fig. 4, and are held in position by spring-actuated friction plugs 30. In order to vary the capacity of the pockets, the position of the surface 18 is adjusted by moving the cam 19 in the guiding-grooves 21, 23 by means of the finger 26. A wiper roll 10 holds the dough in the pockets while a scraper 8 having a cutting-edge 9 divides it from the remainder in the receiver. The dough is fed into the side 33 of the receiver bv rolls 35, 36, 37 so that the material is kept under gentle pressure. In order to divide the dough into smaller portions, the pockets may be provided with transverse knife elements corresponding with slots in the bottoms 7.
