Annealing - boxes. - In means for strengthening annealing-covers, the top sides, and ends of the cover are provided with formations a ff o r d i n g strength in two or more directions. The formations may consist of domes h pressed up from the metal forming the top, sides, and ends of the cover as shown in Fig. 4. Alternatively, grooves running in two or more directions may be formed in the sides and ends, these grooves being in the form of crosses k in the cover shown in Fig. 6. In a further modification shown in Fig. 8, the formations consist of domeportions q in which are formed other domes r of smaller diameter and of reverse curvature. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 9187/84, 16671/84, 21188/08 and 111,371.
