Extincteurs.-In an extincteur having a - separate gas-generator comprising an acid bulb 4, a perforated vessel 3, and an alkali-container 2 provided with gas-outlet holes 7, absorbent packing in the top of the container 2 against the holes 7 prevents the gas from carrying over acid &c. into the main container, so that the liquid discharged from the latter is not liable to damage articles over which it is sprayed. A depending screen 8 surrounds the container 2.
