Abstract

162,468. Holt, C. E. Feb. 26, 1920. Lantern gratings.-A device for preventing glare comprises metal, glass, or other tubes a of round, square, or polygonal cross-section disposed concentrically in close proximity to the front glass and held together by crosswires or strips preferably mounted with their edges towards the source of light, the various tubes being of different lengths. In one form, the connecting-wires b are carried by the frame c of the front glass. The device may be secured to the outside of the lantern. The Provisional Specification also states that the tubes may be of equal lengths.
