Abstract

162,344. Supplee, S. G. Dec. 29, 1919. Teeth, artificial.-Removable dentures such as bridges are secured in place in the mouth by means of sleeve members having detachable and adjustable spring linings and engaging over posts or bars secured to stationarv abutments such as the natural teeth. In the form shown in Fig. 1, a denture 10 carries sleeves 8 engaging telescopically with fixed posts 7. The sleeves 8 are provided, as shown in Figs. 2 and 6, with separately adjustable spring linings 11 removably secured by denting a portion 12 into a depression on the inside of the sleeve. The linings 11 may be provided with extended edges or flanges 14, Fig. 6, or these may be omitted and the edges of the sleeve 8 may be notched. Ir. a modification, the lining may extend for only a portion of the length of the sleeve and be seated in a depression 17 therein as shown in Fig. 7. A further modification is shown in Fig. 8, wherein a troughshaped sleeve 8 with a short spring lining 16 engages edgeways over a supporting-member 7.
