Abstract

161,990. Lambert, H. L. Oct. 27, 1916. Stud-contact conductors.-A track contact box for electric railways comprises a cap 2 of non- magnetic material, a non-magnetic contact plate 4 insulated from the cap 2 and bolts 5 of a material that can be rendered magnetic. The bolts hold the contact plate in position and, upon the passage of a vehicle, attract the armature 7 carried on a flexible conductor 9 and connected thereby to the main feeder 10. The inside of the contact box is lined with insulating-material 12, preferably horn fibre.
