Abstract

161,205. Stanworth, J. Sept. 10, 1919. Hatching-applicances.-Relates to egg-turning means for incubators in which the eggs are placed in a number of trays arranged end to end and provided with movable bars which as they traverse the tray paea under the eggs and thus turn them. The invention consists in means for operating the movable bars in a series of trays simultaneously and positively in either direction from one end of the egg chamber. In Fig. 1, o shows in dotted lines one of the movable turning- bars provided with a stud q which works in a slot p<1> in the bottom of the tray. The operating- mechanism consists of a rod l having a hinged forked plate n for each bar o which is held in engagement with the stud q. The rod l is provided with a bracket k topped to engage a screwed rod c by which it is traversed, and shaped at its outer end to engage a guide-rod m. The rod c is operated from one end of the apparatus by the bevel-gearing shown driven by a hand-crank on the shaft d.
