Abstract

159,669. Middleton, A. L. Dec. 13, 1919. Spring devices.-A shock-absorbing device for vehicles comprises a stirrup-shaped lever a pivotally mounted on a part of the frame d and provided with a hole e to receive a wheel-axle, the lever working in conjunction with a curved laminated spring f, one end of which is connected to a stud or bolt g protruding through an aperture l in the lever, the other end being coiled round a bolt h inserted in one of a number of holes i provided on the lever for adjusting the tension of the spring f. A stud j bears against the inner surface of the spring.
