Sand, distributing on wheel tracks.-In compressed air sanding apparatus, movement of the actuating member to start the operation first admits compressed air to the fall pipe and then causes delivery of sand, and movement of this member to terminate the operation first cuts off the sand supply and again admits compressed air to the fall pipe. The usual sand box a fitted with the mouthpiece c and fall pipe b is provided, and the compressed air supply pipe d is fitted with an actuating member comprising a three-way cock e constructed as shown with connections f, g leading to the mouthpiece c and the lower part of the fall pipe b, preferably at a sharply curved part, respectively. The pipe g may be connected to more than one part of the fall pipe if desired.
