Abstract
157,217. Rogler, M. June 24. 1919, [Convention date]. Fabrics with multiple superposed coatings; coating With adhesive and powdered materials; compound fabrics.-Wire fabric is impregnated with an " elastic protective filling mass." 'When this is set it is coated with a hard elastic " protective material." Ground cork, wood meal, or other suitable granular material may be spread on the coatings while sticky. The wire fabric may be first pressed between sheets of canvas, cotton fabric, paper or the like, such sheets being first impregnated with tar, varnish or the like. The filling mass may be composed of asphalt, ground asbestos, coal tar and red oxide of iron. The coating composition may consist of linseed oil, red oxide of iron, and a small proportion of paraffin. Several coatings are given of a hardness which increases from the interior outwardly. Increased hardness is obtained by increasing the proportion of paraffin.
