Abstract

Side-cars and trailers.-A trailer or side-car for use with motor and other cycles and like tractive vehicles that are unstable when stationary, comprises a single road wheel, a frame arranged in the same plane, and a member for connecting the trailer or side-car to the tractive vehicle in such a way that it can turn in horizontal and vertical directions. As shown in Fig. 1, a trailer comprising a wheel 1 and frame 3 with a saddle 10 and handle bars 11 is connected at 13 to a motorcycle. The connecting-device comprises a horizontal pivot O<0>, Fig. 3, and a detachable vertical pivot V, V<0> which allow the trailer to turn in vertical and horizontal directions respectively. For use as a sidecar, the wheeled carrier may be placed at the side of the tractive vehicle by attaching the connection to the forepart thereof. A number of trailers may be coupled together one behind another.
