Abstract
156,642. Barckmann, G. F. W. Nov. 12, 1917, [Convention datel. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Metal pipes and tubes. - Consists in a method of lining metal pipes formed with bends. The lining a of lead or the like before insertion in the pipe, is tightly closed by the disc b to which is attached a chain c, and packed with material such as sand, asbestos or the like. A closure e, soldered to the chain, retains the filling. The filling may be introduced hot or the lining may 'v be heated after filling. The lining is then drawn into position by means of the chain c, and the closure e, packing, and chain are removed. The lining is then flanged at one end of the tube and expanded into contact with the walls by forcing balls or cones through the tube in known manner.
