Abstract

The new reactive dyes have the formula <IMAGE> where D is the radical of an aromatic carbocyclic or heterocyclic diazo component, R is optionally substituted alkyl, R1 is hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl, B is a bridge member or a direct bond, and X is a reactive group. These dyes are obtained by combining diazotised amines of the formula D-NH2 with an appropriate coupling component. A further process for preparing the dyes of the formula I where B is a direct bond involves reacting the diazotised amines of the formula D-NH2 with a compound of the formula <IMAGE> to form corresponding dyes, which, by elimination of Y-H, are then reacted with reactive components to introduce the radical X. Starting from the diazotised amine D-NH2 and reacting with a dye of the formula III containing the bridge member B and likewise reacting with a reactive component to introduce X gives the corresponding new dyes. The dyes obtained can be used for dyeing and printing hydroxyl- or amido-containing textile fibres, yarns and fabrics.
