Abstract
The plug-in coupling comprises a plug-in socket (1), a plug (2), a blocking ball lock (6, 7) and a shut-off valve which is arranged in the plug-in socket (1). The blocking ball lock (6, 7) releasably fastens the coupled plug (2) in the plug-in socket (1). The plug-in coupling is to be capable of being coupled in use both in high pressure and in low pressure installations in a pressure-relieved manner and therefore can be used for any nominal values and with low levels of pressure loss. This is achieved by designing the shut-off valve as a piston (12) which can be displaced in an axially resilient manner over the inside aperture (13) of the gas pipe (3) and is connected via a passage (22) to the space (19) in which it moves. The passage (22) equalises the pressures in the spaces in front of and behind the piston (12). The shut-off valve is open when the plug (2) is coupled and connects the gas pipe (3), which is introduced perpendicularly to the axis, with little resistance to the pipe which adjoins the plug-in connection (5) and leads to the user. Without the plug (2), the shut-off valve seals off the gas pipe (3). <IMAGE>
