Abstract

The arrangement detects the number of measuring periods within a relatively long reading period, within which measuring periods a limit value corresponding to a predetermined quantity of a variable detected by an impulse meter is exceeded. Such arrangements are used for a fairer tariffing for consumers of electrical energy which temporarily have a very high demand. In this arrangement, the pulses output by the impulse meter are supplied to the input of a pulse counter (1) having an adjustable limit value which, when the limit value is not exceeded within a measuring period predetermined by the time base counter (5), is reset to its initial setting by this time base counter (5) but which, when the limit value is exceeded within the measuring period, increments a transgression counting mechanism (18) by one unit by outputting a transgression pulse, the pulse counter (1) and the time base counter (5) being reset to their initial setting. In the event of a mains voltage failure or inadmissible dropping of the mains voltage, wrong pulses can occur which increment the transgression counting mechanism (18). To prevent this from happening, a voltage monitoring device (23) is provided by means of which the electronics are stopped if the mains voltage drops below a particular value. <IMAGE>
