154,302. Muller, F. Federer-. Aug. 21, 1919. Reed organs; stop and coupler actions; kneeswells.-The draw-stops of an harmonium are in two rows, any vertical pair being similarly named. Two stops 6, 7, actuated bv pushing in with the knees, are provided between the knee-levers 4, 5 and actuate the bass and " discant " louvers respectively of the upper manual echo chest. Forte stops 11, 12 for the lower manual are actuated by the feet, and return to their normal positions automatically. An octave coupler 10 is also operated by the feet. The sub-bass stop 13 is extended to an octave and two-thirds. Beneath this is a whiff-sub-bass stop 15, by means of which the bass sounds may be played gently, the whiff action being concealed. Whiff-play stops 27, 28 have the mechanism mounted in a small chest in the interior of the harmonium, full wind being allowed to act on the reeds. The " µolus harp " is operated by half-draw stops 29, 30. When half drawn, the pure-tuned action or " oboe " is brought into operation, the vibrotuned action or " µolus harp " being added when fully drawn.
