Abstract

Each tube (31 to 37) of the heat exchanger is helically wound in sections alternately to the right and left. The length of these winding sections (7) is only so large that they remain in a circularly cylindrical shell with a centre angle of at most 180 DEG . This results in tubular structures whose circumference forms at most a semicircle, and which therefore are easier to store, stack and transport than the otherwise conventional tubular cylinders. <IMAGE>
