Abstract

The projector includes three cathode ray tubes with associated deflection devices, and an arrangement of projection lenses in front of each cathode ray tube, to project the pictures which are generated on the screens onto a concave projection screen (4). The cathode ray tubes and their projection lens arrangements are arranged vertically one over the other, as projection units (1, 2, 3). With this arrangement, geometrical errors in the projected picture, which are caused by projection, must be corrected in the horizontal direction only, and for a viewing audience which is mainly spread out horizontally, the picture is reproduced with less distortion than with arrangements which also require picture error correction in the vertical direction. <IMAGE>
