Abstract

1536522 Controlling combine harvesters KUBOTA Ltd 28 March 1977 [12 Jan 1977] 12886/77 Heading A1F The load on a combine threshing cylinder 25 provides a signal via detector 26, which is compared in comparator 28 with a signal depending on the forward speed of travel of the harvester derived from speed change means 18 and detector 27, to thus produce a signal to operate an automatic speed regulator 29 in accordance with variations in the threshing load. Detectors associated with two gears in the drive to the threshing cylinder generate a pulse signal which is converted to a continuous signal before being fed to the comparator 28. If the threshing cylinder is stationary, the gear detectors supply a continuous signal indicative of a high load so that the forward travel of the harvester is stopped.
