Abstract

1536486 Lifting cradle for wall elements; guiding lifts ICB NV INTERNATIONALE CONSTRUCTIE BEDRIJVEN 31 March 1976 [18 April 1975] 12999/76 Headings B8L and B8H [Also in Division E1] A cradle, for use in assembling a curtain wall consisting of storey high wall elements which have, on at least one longitudinal edge, guiding rails for guiding a cleaning truck, comprises a rectangular frame 6 with sets of rollers 12, 17 to engage the guide rails, a suspension beam 18 movable along rails 19 secure to and extending perpendicular to the frame and a pair of carrying hooks 21 movable along the beam 18 in a plane parallel to the frame. A pair of latches 28, 29 are mounted on the frame to engage in the longitudinal edges of a wall element to secure same during lifting of the cradle by a cable attached to a lug 26. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 8 (not shown) the carrying hooks (33) are connected to the frame (6<SP>1</SP>) by a pair of cables (32). In operation the wall element to be mounted is engaged by the hooks 21 and secured by the latches. The frame is raised to the desired position of the said element whereupon by suitable movement of the hooks relative to the frame the said element can be interlocked with the elements already in position.
