Abstract
The regenerative heat exchanger has a rotor with a storage body (19) which consists at least essentially of corrugated tape layers having transverse grooves (24', 24'') reaching from end face to end face. Flowing through the storage body as the rotor rotates are different, simultaneously present gas streams between which the storage body effects the exchange of sensible heat and/or latent heat. In order to improve the heat exchange or to reduce the storage body for a given heat-exchanging capacity, the transverse grooves (24', 24'') of adjacent corrugated tape layers are directed obliquely relative to one another, and at least some of the transverse grooves of each corrugated tape layer are open to transverse grooves of adjacent corrugated tape layers which are likewise open with respect to them. <IMAGE>
