1535374 Estimation of α-amylase BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM GmbH 27 Feb 1976 [28 Feb 1975] 7863/76 Heading G1B The α-amylase content of a body fluid, e.g. blood or urine, is estimated by reaction of a test sample with a starch solution buffered to pH 6À5- 7À5 for a predetermined time and thereafter determining the amount of starch which has reacted by adding an aqueous reagent solution of I 2 in acetic acid and measuring the degree of coloration of the resulting solution, e.g. by optical density measurement, as an indication of α-amylase concentration.
