1534136 Hydrogenation catalysts GAF CORP 17 Dec 1975 [18 April 1975] 51697/75 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] Hydrogenation catalysts consist of elemental copper and elemental palladium in a weight ratio of 10-500:1 supported on magnesium silicate, asbestos, kieselguhr or silica gel, the metals comprising 3-40 wt. % of the composition. They are useful in the production of γ-butyrolactone by the hydrogenation maleic and/or succinic acid and/or anhydride (see Division C2).
