Abstract
1533083 Arrangement of a power plant HITACHI Ltd 4 April 1977 [7 April 1976] 14156/77 Heading B7A A floating marine structure for desalinating water comprises gas turbines 102 driving electric power generators for auxiliary machinery, waste heat from the gas turbines being recovered in heat recovery boilers 103, the resultant steam being used to heat brine in heaters 112 in connection with desalination plants 104. Sea water is taken in through vertical intakes 106 in the centre line of the structure and discharged at the sides 107. Freshwater storage tanks 108 are provided. Connectors 118 link power generating section 101A with desalination section 101B. Fresh water is stored in side tanks 108.
