1532240 Anti-ulcer compositions containing 2-halo-thiazoles JOHN WYETH & BRO Ltd 9 Feb 1977 [18 Nov 1975 28 May 1976 10 June 1976 4 Nov 1976] 05320/77 05321/77 05322/77 and 24163/76 Divided out of 1532239 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions having antiulcer or anti-secretory activity comprise a compound I in which R<SP>1</SP> is H, C 1-6 alkyl or phenyl, R is H or COR<SP>2</SP> (where R<SP>2</SP> is H; C 1-5 alkyl optionally substituted by Cl, Br, CF 3 , MeO, EtO, OH or CN; C 2-4 alkenyl; C 2-4 alkynyl; or cyclopropyl) and X is Cl or Br. The compositions are administered orally and may contain one or more antacid ingredients such as Al(OH) 3 , Mg(OH) 3 , BiCO 3 , CaCO 3 , NaHCO 3 , aluminium glycinate, magnesium trisilicate or an alumina gel.
