Abstract

1532228 Spark gaps RCA CORPORATION 24 Oct 1975 [29 Nov 1974] 43883/75 Heading H1X [Also in Division H4] C.r.t. apparatus for protecting signal processing circuits from flashovers between electrodes (see Division H4) may include a tube socket with terminals 418 and 420 for receiving the pins associated with low voltage and high voltage focus electrodes respectively, conductive elements 428 spaced from ring segment 426 to form spark gaps, and spark gap 432 which may be sealed, or as in Fig. 3 (not shown) to provide operation independent of pressure. Other arrangements for terminals 418 are disclosed by reference to publications. An alternative arrangement is described with respect to Fig. 5 (not shown) in which the socket is mounted on a printed circuit board and resistors 528 and 532 provide over-voltage and limit arc current.
