Abstract
1532085 Fungicide/micronutrient compositions TEXACO TRINIDAD INC 22 March 1976 [12 May 1975] 11404/76 Heading A5E [Also in Division Cl] A fungicidal and foliar feeding spray composition for supplying trace metals to plants comprises:-(a) a non-phytotoxic hydrocarbon mineral oil carrier having a minimum API gravity of 27; a viscosity at 100‹F of 55 to 100 Saybolt Universal Seconds and a boiling range between 85‹ and 775‹F; (b) between 0.05 and 8.0% by volume, based on said oil of at least one overbased trace metal salt of naphthenic acids; and (c) from 0.001 to 0.003 per cent by volume, based on said oil, of 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid or a derivative thereof, e.g. an amine salt or an ester. The overbased metal salt of naphthenic acids has a core of metal hydroxide of the formula M(OH) 2 and an outer layer of a metal naphthenate of the formula (RCO 2 ) 2 M wherein R is cycloalkyl having 14 to 46 carbon atoms, and M is zinc, copper, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese or molybdenum, the molar ratio of metal hydroxide to metal naphthenate being from 2:1 to 20:1, and the micelles comprising no free naphthenic acids (see Specification 1520752). The composition may be sprayed onto the leaves, branches or bark of plants.
