Blasting-fuses.-Consists in firing blasting- cartridges by means of a device comprising a striker g adapted to be drawn sharply against percussion caps d by means of a chain, wire, or cord h when a sudden pull thereon overcomes a given resistance holding the striker g in place. For example, the striker g may be held against the wall of the casing by an adhesive or by means of bent lugs k, Fig. 4. The casing is made in two pieces a, b, secured together by flanges c, c one of which may be split and bent over the other as sbown at m, Fig. 4. A thin metal diaphragm e, which collapses under the blow of the striker, may be interposed between the striker and the percussion caps.
