Abstract

1531504 Animal feeds AHP INC 24 Oct 1975 43896/75 Heading A2B [Also in Division A5] Food for animals (e.g. cattle, pigs, poultry) includes gentian violet which acts as a growth promoter and as an inhibitor of Candida albicans thus preventing or curing infections, at concentrations of 0.00077 to 0.05% gentian violet in the total feed. The gentian violet may be supplied as a premix concentrate containing 0.1 to 10% gentian violet, in solid form or in aqueous solution. The gentian violet may be added to poultry water or may form part of a complete feed also containing diatomaceous silica, corn cob fractions, vegetable oil, distilled water, ground yellow corn, soybean oil meal, meat scrap, menboden fish meal, dicalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, and vitamins.
