Foot deformity, treating.-An instrument for restoring displaced bones in the foot to their natural position comprises an elastic pressing- member 1 secured to the end of a metal thumbstall 2 having an extension 4 connected to the wrist by an adjustable strap 7. A second adjustable strap 6 passes round the base of the thumb as shown in Fig. 1. In the modified form shown in Fig. 3, in which the pressing-member 1<a> is mounted on the palm of the hand, a leather or like palm-piece 4a is apertured to pass over the thumb and has its ends connected by an elastic band passing round the back of the hand. In use, the pressing-member is applied to the underside of the foot at the desired point and the fingers of the hand, or the fingers and thumb in the case of the form shown in Fig. 3, are used to hold the foot in position. The free hand of the operator exerts a counter-pressure on the upper side of the foot during the operation.
