1530675 Guanidine derivatives JOHN WYETH & BRO Ltd 1 June 1977 [5 June 1977 26 Jan 1977] 23331/76 and 03056/77 Heading C2C Novel compounds of Formula I or a salt thereof wherein the nitrogen heterocyclic ring may be of formula (a), (b) or (c) wherein R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> which may be the same or different each represent hydrogen, lower alkyl, trifluoromethyl or halogen and R<SP>11</SP> and R<SP>12</SP> which may be the same or different each represent hydrogen, lower alkyl trifluoromethyl or halogen with the proviso that when one or both R<SP>11</SP> or R<SP>12</SP> groups represent halogen then R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> each represent lower alkyl, trifluoromethyl or halogen, R‹ and R<SP>10</SP> which may be the same or different each represents hydrogen, lower alkyl or trifluoromethyl and R<SP>13</SP> and R<SP>14</SP> which may be the same or different each represents hydrogen, lower alkyl, trifluoromethyl or halogen with the proviso that when one or both R<SP>13</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> groups represent halogen then R<SP>9</SP> and R<SP>10</SP> each represent lower alkyl or trifluoromethyl and R<SP>7</SP> and R<SP>8</SP> are the same or different and each represent hydrogen or lower alkyl and R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP> and R<SP>6</SP> are the same or different and each represent hydrogen or lower alkyl or R<SP>4</SP> and R<SP>6</SP> are each hydrogen and R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>5</SP> together represent dimethylene or trimethylene such that group of formula(e) represent:- and lower denotes groups containing up to 6 carbon atoms are prepared by standard methods, e.g. by formation of the acylimino bond link in standard fashion from the two halves. Intermediates and starting materials are also prepared. Pharmaceutical compositions in standard form and having hypertensive hyperglycemic and antiulcer activity comprise an above novel compound and a carrier or diluent.
