Abstract

1529038 Colour photographic silver halide developer FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 15 June 1977 [15 June 1976] 25110/77 Heading G2C A colour photographic silver halide developer contains (1) a primary aromatic amine colour developing agent, (2) a 3-pyrazolidone derivative having an optionally substituted aryl group at the 1-position, (3) hydroxylamine or a derivative thereof and (4) a dihydroxy compound containing a moiety of the Formula:- ## where n is 1, 2, 3 or 4; and the -C=C- moiety may form part of a chain or ring. Preferably (1) is N, N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulphate or 4-[N-ethyl-N-(B-hydroxyethyl) amino] aniline sulphate, (2) is 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone, 4-hydroxy methyl-4-methyl-1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone, 4, 4-dihydroxymethyl-1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone or 4-methyl-1-phenyl-3-purazolidone, (3) is hydroxylamine or its sulphate or hydrochloride or N, N-diethylhydroxylamine or its oxalate and (4) is hydroquinone, pyrocatechol, pyrogallol, L- ascorbic acid, triose reductone, reductic acid or t-butyl-, chloro-, or phenyl-hydroquinone. A coupler and sensitizing dye combination is disclosed in Example 1. These developers are very storage stable, do not form precipitation and scum, are not coloured green by aerial oxidation and can be used in rapid processing e.g. of colour radiographic materials.
