1528311 Colour television tubes LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS GmbH 28 April 1977 [15 May 1976] 17745/77 Heading H1D Wave-shaped raster line distortion adjacent the upper and lower edges of the raster in a three in-line gun colour television tube is reduced by the use of a plurality of permanent magnets 6, 7, 8 and 9 distributed around the tube in the vicinity of the screen, having their axes substantially aligned with the tube axis, and alternate magnets being oppositely polarized, and two further permanent magnets, 10 and 11, having axes disposed substantially parallel to the line scanning direction, and oppositely polarized. All the magnets may be permanently secured to the edge 5 of the deflection coil carrier 3.
