Abstract

1527647 Oxidation catalyst MONSANTO CO 19 May 1976 [19 May 1975] 20694/76 Addition to 1488699 Heading B1E A process for the production of an oxidation/ammoxidation catalyst, comprising Sb a U b Fe c Bi d MO e Me f combined with oxygen where Me=Ni or Co, a=1-10, b=0.1-5, c=0.1-5, d=0.001-0.1, e=0.001-0.1 and f= 0-0.1, comprises forming a mixture of oxides or sulphates of Sb, U, Bi, Fe and optionally Ni or Co, in sulphuric acid, digesting the resulting mixture, adjusting its pH to 8 to obtain precipitation, filtering and drying the resultant cake, optionally after mixing with support material, e.g. silica sol, and calcining the dried cake at 500-1150‹C and in which process Mo is introduced (a) by mixing ferric or bismuth molybdate with the filter cake before drying or (b) by impregnating with ferric or bismuth molybdate the product obtained after calcining the dried filter cake.
