Abstract
152,689. Plohl, M. July 11, 1919, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act] Addition to 152,673. Casings; introducing air at high pressure at rotor discharge apertures. - In a method of increasing efficiency in a pump as described in the parent Specification, air at high pressure is led back from the pressure space b to a portion t of the width of the rotor h against the flow of air through the pump. Two annular discs a, a<1>, inclined to each other as shown, connect the pressure space b of the guide-chamber with the space t which immediately surrounds the rotor and has a width of at least one-third of the width of the rotor blades. The space between the discs is divided into a number of ducts, with cross sections of equal areas throughout, by partitions s placed approximately in the direction of air flow from the rotor. In a modification, a number of annular discs may be employed to form annular spaces without the partitions s.
