Abstract
1526684 Channel for molten glass SOC GENERALE POUR L'EMBALLAGE 2 May 1977 [4 May 1976] 18260/77 Heading C1M A channel for the flow of molten glass has a roof with two ridges dividing it into three longitudinal compartments the central one acting as a duct for cooling gas and the side ones reverberation vaults for heat and has electrodes adjacent the sides of the channel passing downwardly through the roof and into the glass melt for heating the glass. The electrodes may be coupled so that current flows along the channel and not across it and they may be made of Mo with cooled holders. The side vaults may be heated by electric resistance heaters.
