Abstract

1526589 Vulcanizing continuous lengths GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO 3 June 1977 [6 Aug 1976] 32878/76 Heading C3E Continuous lengths of elastomeric or plastoneric material are vulcanized by propelling the material through an enclosure, in which it is subject to vulcanizing conditions, in the form of successive turns supported on the surface of a vertically journalled rotary cylindrical drum, the successive turns being supported by projecting guide means extending around the drum. In Fig. 2, a hose 4 is supported by guides 2 and is moved from one guide to the next by transfer roller 3. Rotation of the drum 1 by shaft 8 conveys the hose successively from the inlet 6 to the outlet 7.
