Abstract
1526494 Lining reservoirs ATELIERS J HANREZ SA 29 April 1976 [9 May 1975] 17482/76 Heading E1T [Also in Division G6] A reservoir e.g. for corrosive liquids and preferably formed of reinforced concrete 1 is lined with metal sheets e.g. of stainless steel joined together by soldering so as to provide closed cross section drainage conduits 14 to allow the liquid in the reservoir to escape in the event of a leak without the liquid contacting the reservoir structure 1. Light weight concrete 15 may be infilled between the lining and the structure 1. A plurality of drain points may be provided so that any leaks may be traced to certain sections of lining. Leaks may be identified by pressuring the drainage conduits with liquid or gas and inspecting the lining for liquid leak or gas bubbles. Leaks may be stopped by additives in the liquid pressurising the conduits in test. The reservoir may contain boric acid solution from the primary circuit of a nuclear reactor.
