Abstract

1526465 Moulding compositions containing aromatic amine derivatives NEYNABER CHEMIE GmbH 10 Sept 1976 [12 Sept 1975] 37533/76 Heading C3R A moulding composition contains a thermosetting condensation resin and an additive of the formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are each H, CH 3 -, CH 3 O-, R<SP>3</SP> 2 N-, R<SP>3</SP> 2 N-C 6 H 4 -, or R<SP>3</SP> 2 N-C 6 H 4 -CH 2 - R<SP>3</SP> being H, C 6 H 5 - or Y-[-OCHXCH 2 -] m -; X is H or a C 1-26 alkyl group; Y is H or R<SP>4</SP>-CO-, R<SP>4</SP> being a C 12-26 hydrocarbon group, and m plus n is 0-100, at least one Y being R<SP>4</SP>-CO- if n is less than 11 and X is H or a C 1-9 alkyl group. Preferably 0À1-10 p.h.r. of the additive are used. In Examples 1-3, 66 mols of ethylene oxide are added to aniline; a 32-mol ethylene oxide/aniline adduct is esterified with 1 mol of stearic acid; and a amide is prepared from methylene dianiline and stearic acid (in 1 : 1 molar ratio). 1% of the products are incorporated into a moulding composition of a phenol-formaldehyde resin, hexamethylene tetramine, wood meal and MgO (Example 4), or of a melamine-formaldehyde resin and chalk (Example 6).
