Abstract

1526123 Manholes J C ROSSBOROUGH 24 April 1976 16723/76 Headings E1C and E2B [Also in Division F2] The specification discloses an alternative arrangement for connection of a pipe to an opening in a side wall of a manhole riser of Specification 1450913, the arrangement comprising a tapered connector boot 204 of elastomeric material clamped by a band 211 to the exterior of the pipe 203 where it enters the opening 202 in the riser, and clamped to the interior of the opening 202 by a clamping band 212 having toggle arms 212A 212B which can be faced over-centre in a radially expanded condition of the band by a hydraulic jack (not shown) an installation of the boot 204. Spaced ribs 209 around the outside of the boot 204 enhance the seal to the opening 202.
