1524888 Comminuting refuse WILLIAMS PATENT CRUSHER & PULVERIZER CO 20 Oct 1976 43578/76 Heading B2A A trash shredding plant has conveyors arranged under it to conserve space and facilitate parallel layouts. Infeed is via a conveyor 14 to the shredder 10 and overflow from conveyor 14 and output of the shredder 10 falls on to a pan-type catcher conveyor 16 enclosed together with part of a carrier conveyor 21 by mold boards 18, and side walls 17. Conveyor 21 runs typically at 400-450 f.p.m. and conveyor 16 at 40-70 f.p.m. and both conveyors slope at 16‹ and 10‹ respectively. Shredded trash is thus thinned out and distributed ready for ferrous scrap separation by a magnetic drum separator 23.
