Abstract
1523987 Detecting atomic radiation LE MATERIEL TELEPHONIQUE 10 Nov 1976 46851/76 Heading G1A In a device for detecting atomic radiation a number of detectors of different spectral sensitivity are combined so that the device is substantially independent of wavelength over a predetermined range of the spectrum of radio-active radiation. The detectors may be made of semi-conductor material. The detectors may also be diversified by the choice of their supply and bias voltages or by the screening surrounding them. Alternatively, they may differ from one or other by their individual operating characteristics. The set of detectors 1 supply a preamplifier and integrator 4 which activates a trigger circuit 5 when the radiation level is high enough. The output of the trigger circuit 5 feeds a counter 6 connected via a decoder 8 to a display 9 or a warning device 13. A more detailed circuit corresponding to boxes 1, 4 and 5 is disclosed.
