1523778 Injection mould MONTEDISON SpA 30 Oct 1975 [30 Oct 1974] 44885/75 Heading B5A A mould for injection moulding of, e.g. foamed thermoplastic materials such as polystyrene and PVC comprises two relatively movable mould blocks 1, 2 made of non-heat conducting material, each mould block having affixed thereto a metal shell 5, 6 defining the mould cavity, each metal shell being spaced from the corresponding surface 3, 4 of the mould block to define a space 7, 8 and ducts 13 . . . 16 for the inlet and outlet of heating or cooling fluid to the spaces 7, 8 are provided in the mould. This arrangement allows of more even and rapid heating and cooling of the mould, and so results in more uniform surface quality and shorter cycle times.
