Abstract

1523214 Solid electrolyte oxygen sensor NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 3 June 1976 [3 June 1975] 23023/76 Heading G1N In a solid electrolyte exhaust gas oxygen sensor, the electrode contacting the exhaust gas comprises platinum and rhodium with the Pt:Rh molar ratio being between 2:1 and 1:2, this electrode material being a catalyst for the oxidation of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons and for the reduction of oxides of nitrogen. The reference electrode is laminar and both electrodes are porous. The solid electrolyte is preferably CaO stabilized ZrO 2 .
