Abstract

1522783 Pedal Bins SOC INDUSTRIELLE ET COMMERCIALE DE TRANSFORMATION DES PLASTIQUES 15 March 1977 10803/77 Heading A4A A pedal bin comprises an inner receptacle (1) having an outer jacket (2) relative to which the receptacle may be made to slide by depressing a pedal (3), there being a lid (4) hinged to the jacket and caused to open by the sliding of the receptacle. In a first embodiment Fig. 1, (not shown), the pedal (3) is integral with the jacket (2) and when the pedal is depressed the jacket moves down around the receptacle (1) so that the receptacle presses on the lid (4) and causes the lid to open. In a second embodiment Fig. 2, (not shown), the pedal (3) is arranged to lift the receptacle (1) within the jacket (2) so that it presses on the lid (4) and causes the lid to open. The weight of the lid or a suitable biasing device (not disclosed) causes the lid to close when the pedal is released. The bin is of a plastics material.
