Abstract

Agents, in which the active constituents are those acid addition salts or quaternary salts of ethoxylated-propoxylated fatty polyamines in which there are 5-35 mol of ethylene oxide units and 170-190 mol of propylene oxide units per mol, are valuable auxiliaries in the paper industry. They act as antifoams or even as foam preventers in the preparation of paper-coating mixtures.
