1520572 Sealable bag RHEIN-MAIN-PLASTIK GmbH 18 Feb 1976 [21 March 1975] 06434/76 Heading B8K A bag or sack made from wide-meshed textile web plies has an additional band 14 of a weldable plastics material incorporated into each ply in a region adjacent the mouth of the bag or sack and so as to extend parallel to the mouth edges. As described a two-ply web 10 produced on a Raschel knitting machine so as to comprise stitch wales 12 interconnected by threads 13 has the two web plies connected at a longitudinal edge 17 and in spaced transverse zones 18 to form a connected series of bags or sacks. Bands 14, 15 of weldable plastics material are interengaged with threads 13 adjacent the open mouths of the bags before the web is severed into separate lengths. The threading is so arranged that each band 14, 15 is crossed by fewer sections of the thread 13 on the inside of the bag to give long lengths of the bands on the inside of the bag which can be welded together after the bag is filled.
