Abstract

1519356 Automatic control M SIMMONDS 26 Aug 1976 [3 Dec 1975 28 June 1976] 49599/75 Heading G3N [Also in Division D1] A steam iron is connected electrically to a vacuum ironing table by a control unit whereby release of the steam switch of the iron to stop the steam supply is automatically followed by application of a vacuum pulse at the table of a pre-set duration. Operating modes such as steam or vacuum, steam and vacuum and continuous vacuum are also selectable (switches B to E) and the timed pulse may be obtained by a capacitor CT and associated components. The table may have an alternative air-blow function with modes paralleling those of the vacuum function.
