Abstract

1518767 2:1 twisting machines KAJITEKKOSHO KK 18 June 1976 25396/76 Heading DID A 2:1 twisting machine for forming cords comprises 2:1 supply spindles a and b horizontally supported in the upper section of the machine and cabling (take up) 2:1 spindles outwardly slanting from the machine at an angle of 5 to 15‹ under the horizontal spindles, and tension adjusting means (in spindles a and at tensor 84) and a yarn breakage stop motion d. 2:1 supply spindles (Fig. 4 not shown) comprise a stationarily mounted package support, the yarn passing through a tensioning device within the hollow spindle and disc (36) to balloon control rings 49 and 50 and being doubled at the guide rod 44. The supply spindles a and b comprise a clutchbrake device mounted on the spindle shaft 9. The cone clutch (Fig. 4 not shown) is normally engaged by a spring with the driving pulley 16. The clutch is disengaged by stop motion d. 2:1 take up spindles, (Figs. 7, 8 and 9 not shown). The take up spindles comprise a traverse guide to lay the yarn on the take up bobbin 135. The transverse drive is derived from the spindle shaft via gears (see Fig. 9). The size of the package being wound is detected by a roller (124) which pivots to vary the spacing of a magnetic coupling (112, 113) in the drive to the take up bobbin so as to increase the torque transmitted thereto during winding. The take up spindle base (92) is held in a stationary position by weight (159) and, if necessary, arms (206). Spindle drives. The main drive for the supply and take up 2:1 twisting spindles is derived from electric motor (161) and main shaft (165) including an electromagnet brake (210). The take up spindles are driven from the main shaft by tensioned endless belts (179). The supply 2:1 twisting spindles are driven from the main shaft via belts (167, 171, 174). The feed rollers 80 are driven from the main shaft via intermediate gears and belts. The drive arrangement within the 2:1 twisting spindles is described in Figs. 4, 7, 8, and 9 (not shown). Stop motion and spindle brake, Fig. 6 (not shown). Upon yarn breakage, yarn guides (69) pivots upwardly so that lower plates (71) thereby urged forwardly by cam (75) to release pins (63) and handle (56) and allow connecting rods (59 and 60) to move upwardly to disengage the clutch and apply the brake (13) within the 2:1 twisting supply spindles. The supply spindles may also be braked manually by handle (56) upon release of trigger (61) in the stop motion.
